‘FAINA THLENTUTE NI’ CELEBRATED WITH GRANDEUR

On the evening of 19th October, 2023, the Public Health Engineering Department and the Central YMA came together to organize ‘Faina Thlentute Ni’ (Cleanliness Warrior Day). This event celebrated individuals who have made significant efforts to maintain cleanliness in their respective localities and the PHED Minister, Prof. Lalnilawma graced the occasion as Chief Guest.

Chaired by Er. C. Lalremsiama, Secretary to the Government of Mizoram, PHE Department, the event was graced by Secretaries and Heads of different departments, Principals of various institutions and office bearers from City Branch YMA’s to witness and celebrate the selfless acts of the 46 individuals who have dedicated their time and initiative to ensure the cleanliness of their localities and villages.

Prof. Lalnilawma, the chief guest, emphasized the importance of their work, saying, “­There have been several Govt. initiated programmes for the cleanliness of the environment which has been a big impetus in our progress towards achieving cleanliness. This progress could be achieved largely because of the collective efforts and cooperation of the NGO’s  and dedicated individuals. The development of the State and the culture is dependent on the people and if we continue to fulfil our individual responsibilities we will take steps towards progress. The coordination committee between the PHE Department and the Central YMA have organised this programme especially for these deserving individuals and I hope this serves as an example to the youth of today that they may follow in their footsteps and continue these selfless acts for the betterment of the society”.

The felicitation of these Cleanliness Warriors was decided by a CorCom committee comprising of PHED and CYMA on 27th January 2023. These cleanliness warriors were carefully selected from all across the state through the Central YMA. Each Branch YMA/YLA/MTP/YCA conducted selection in their respective localities and chose 46 well-deserving individuals. The felicitation programme was initially proposed to be observed on the 12th of October 2023, however, due to the imposition of the model code of conduct for the elections, the programme had been postponed and celebrated last night, the 19th of Dec 2023. These ‘Faina Thlentute’ were honored with appreciation citation, cash prizes, mementos, thangchhuah diar and puanchei muffler for their outstanding contribution. The CYMA and PHED CorCom wishes that this programme will help motivate the citizens to take steps towards cleanliness.

The programme has been live telecast on Zonet and LPS. CYMA Vice President Prof. Lalnuntluanga delivered a message and Er. Lalrothanga, Chairman, PHED & CYMA CorCom express gratitude in his closing remarks. Local various artists are captivating the audiences with their performances.
